Repossession isn't something we like to talk about, but the scenario is all too real if you can't keep up with your car payments. If this has happened to you, do you know where to go in Honolulu to get financed again? Not all dealerships work with the kind of lenders that can help people who have a repossession on their credit. Here at Drivers Lane, we know which dealers can help in and around Honolulu.

Repossessions stay on your credit reports for up to seven years, but the impact of it lessens over time. Most lenders want you to wait a year before you can get an auto loan. This can be a long time to go without a car, especially if you need a vehicle to commute to and from work or other activities around Honolulu. The best way to avoid this wait time is to stop the repo before it starts. Talk to your lender at the first sign you'll have trouble meeting your payment obligations. In some cases there are options your lender can take to make sure the repossession process doesn't have to move forward.

So, if you've had a repo in Honolulu and can't wait any longer to look for another vehicle, let Drivers Lane guide you toward a dealer that can work through bad credit situations. The process is free, and there's no obligation. Just click here to get started.

There are many ways to pay for a vehicle. Some people pay for the car in full with cash. Others prefer a loan from a dealership, bank, or credit union. If you are considering a loan and have less-than-stellar credit, however, your options may be more limited.

If you see car lots advertising cars for people with bad credit and no credit, they're likely buy-here, pay-here car lots. While they may be attractive at first glance, these types of loans should be approached with extreme care.

According to the CFPB, you may end up paying thousands of dollars more than the value of the vehicle in financing charges. Overall, if you are able to do so, avoiding buy-here, pay-here dealerships and car loans is the better choice.

A four-tier residential rate structure helps to make water affordable and encourages conservation. An Essential Needs Tier charges all customers a below-cost rate for the first 2,000 gallons of water used. Thereafter, as usage increases, the rates also rise.

The City Department of Environmental Services (ENV) manages Oahu's wastewater and solid waste systems. ENV ensures that each time water goes down your home drain, it flows to a treatment plant where it is treated and safely released into the environment or recycled.

Heres one for you non hawaiians. Be careful of what you are purchasing because there are official documents that prove the land belongs to native kanakas. Vast amount of the land here was wrongfully given the quite title to individuals that had no proof of ownership or proof that they contacted the rightful beneficiary. The Hawaiian language is now recognized as an official language to the judicial systems. What does that mean? The written wills and land titles of our kupunas now can be legally used in our courts to prove who the land belongs to PAST and Present. You might be buying something that never belonged to the seller. There will be lawsuits in the future against a lot of corporations and individuals that acquired land illegally and sold it to developers. Be very aware of this!!!

An important part of Hawaiian culture is the care and nurturing of family and friends, or "ohana." I've observed that nearly everywhere you go, whether it's to a restaurant or to the mall, things are set up to be a family-friendly experience.

If we move, we'd sell our home here and pay cash for a property in Honolulu that's around 40% cheaper. We'd then reinvest the house savings into real estate crowdfunding, dividend stocks and REITs to boost our passive income for retirement.
